Hey strat--if you don't mind a personal question on listening approaches...?

I am always impressed by your ability to snatch a "top version" for a tune from ANY era...you may have answered before, but do you consistently listen to all yrs of the Boys? Or, having made your way thru it all, just have a great memory/notes for dates for tunes that were well played?

Even with my really restrictive "era focus" it took a few yrs for me to come to a list of even just the "big tunes" (ie, DS, StSt, OOne) that I could give a "best of" suggestion for say, 68-71, off the top of my head...and I still couldn't do it consistently for something like M&MU or DWolf or others I've heard countless times from those same yrs...

I have a gift for retaining useless information ;P...

I have my favorite years and I will defer to folks who know 65-68 better than me, but 69 on, I can give you almost anything as far as best shows, versions, etc....

I know the feeling (useless info retention); I have it in other domains, but not so much in music (dates, events, that sort of stuff--personal interactions, I am v good with).

As is obvious here, I often need help/correcting even with early era material...

Bob sacrifices a precious eye-lash to get the mojo for every time he sings Caution, so these are gonna become a precious commodity sooner than later...

On that note, I think I saw a gypsy woman around here somewheres, better hold onto your tears!
